Every time i swallow my throat hurts what is this a sign of?

I've been sick for about 4 days now and it gets worse every day first it started with a head ache in then a cough, then a sore throat and runny nose. today i felt my throat and noticed it had a lump in it right under my chin near the larynx(voice box) i have had pain in the chest and area also. i have taken medicine and pain relievers none of them work. Help please?
